New year, new you? What's a better option? π₯³
This is heard so many times - I'll start in the New Year - new me and all that. Firstly, to have a plan to start more positive changes can only be commended, let's not take away from that! But here's the thing that I find helps better...instead of just saying new year, new me...why not say new me now? Start now. That's the change in thinking we have to try make. Things don't need to be these elaborate plans with fine details - yes they can come with time but initially - just start! Whatever that is! Do you want to be more active? Well, start with a walk around your block. Do you want to change jobs? Start by updating your CV and signing up for job alerts. Do you want to start to journal? Start by getting a pen and paper and writing your thoughts. This can be applied to anything! None of us know what's around the corner. So by saying we will wait for something is allowing us to be open to the possibility of that time never arriving. Who knows what roadblock may appear in the meantime? So, instead of waiting for that new year or new week or next Monday, start now - it's a new minute - best time as any. We can celebrate then the extra time of positivity we have started that we would have missed out on by waiting! π€πππ
