Vegas aftermath 😩 (original post Sep 28th, 2017, 8.39PM)

 Still don’t think I’ve got the excitement of my recent Vegas trip out of my head. 😣 I have to say it was the best trip with the best group of people. Being altogether after so many years could have been so awkward and all but it was the opposite. I didn’t want it to end. It showed that almost 2 decades of friendship has such meaning 💖

There was no plan as such for the time we were there but just being together was the best thing-from meeting in LA and taking the road trip to Vegas! 🚘 I was sore from laughing! 😂 The saying is true too...what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...for photos and videos anyway! Treasures to keep! 😉😝🤣

It’s a place to easily do a few times and have many different trips. We did bits of gambling, pool party and seen a few sights but it was mainly nightlife spots we hit! As I said, quality bonding time!!! 🙌👯💃🕺

It definitely was a trip that made me look at friendships again and value those I already loved in my life...now for me they have just been built on! The lover of travel in me would have us on road trips like that together all the time!

A big Vegas casino win would have helped that!!! 🤑🤑🤑For now, it’s getting the cents added up for the next one!

But easy for me to say, it may have only been 4 days but Vegas was something I will NEVER forget...was all I asked for and more as far as a great bunch of friends and the laughs and memories to go with it!!! ❤️ #friends #laugh #live #travel #vegas #roadtrip #longtimefriends

Powerlifting 🏋️‍♀️ competition number 3 for me this weekend. I had signed up a while ago but was almost about to withdraw when the worst thing in my life happened a couple of weeks ago 🥺💔 After some thinking, I wanted to at least show up and try and make people proud 💕  Watching some videos back, there is a list of criticism I can give myself about form etc. but maybe that’s for another day and I’ll be happy to take it all on and keep learning.  But the win for me was turning up. Was such a tough day but I tried to do what I could. Fails were there for sure but I am definitely not beating myself up over any of them. One that I’ll take is my first triple digit lift ever-100kgs deadlift. I know some people are looking at these baby weights and laughing at the struggle when I’m trying to lift. Does the shoe fit? 👟

​Still seeing photos and videos and having chats about my 2nd ever powerlifting competition last Saturday! (Thanks Boyneside 🤩) Was gifted with my first pair of weightlifting 🏋️‍♀️ shoes 👟 too for after it from my folks! 😍 Bringing up lot of thoughts 💭 though! Looking back on the whole thing, I went through every emotion-nerves for walking out in front of everyone, anxiety at not being familiar with the whole process, apprehension with not knowing a lot of people and trying to build up the courage to say hi even, embarrassment at having such light lifts in comparison to others and still struggling with some. So, I’m at a crossroads of what to do-do I give the shoes a try? (Kind of a metaphor here) Is powerlifting even for me? Do I take a different route? I know my goal is to be stronger anyway that’s for sure. Post trip thinking time 💭

​ ​Funny how a break from routine can let your mind think of different aspects of your life so that when you return it’s clearer where your interests lie and what changes you want to make 🫣 One thing on the trip was that the food choices weren’t the best so I felt myself craving colour today! Spinach, prawns 🍤 and peppers 🫑 did that job! 😋 Only got back last nite so even though I am still so tired, I was so excited to get a gym session in…it’s like medicine! 🏋️‍♀️ Being honest, my biggest struggle was work-huge lack in motivation. I’ve been through times that I got into a rut and should have made changes sooner. Is this a time I have seen that it’s needed.
